This is the origin book of Drizzt Do'urden. Book 1 of 37 and the second novel I have read in the series, the first being Book 4, The Crystal Shard. My hope is to be able to read the entire series. I quite enjoyed the story line. Not knowing much about the Drow elves this was a great introduction to the Drow as well as Drizzt.
Thereās only one way to enjoy Drizzt as he was meant to be experienced - go back in time to the 1990s and magically de-age yourself into a 13-year-old. Then forget the existence of every fantasy book published since 2000 and imagine that most of the shelves are Tolkien pastiche and never ending series by a couple of guys named Terry.
